Take your time getting into the ecosystem. Some of these hyper-productivity apps might be overkill for you, or unnecessary, or might limit you from experiencing the quicks of the OS and why these tools exist in the first place. Many of the best apps out there are cross platform versions, like VLC, Handrbake, Plex, etc. I hate to say it, but the App store is not that incredible once you start to scroll through for cool stuff to check out. I did pay for iA Writer. A nice and clean app with a great esthetic for one of my needs with a computer. I'd also recommend using Safari and forgetting about Chrome, but that's just me.
Top Apps For Productivity
Safari is much more efficient and will give you better battery life. When I started using macOS, about 10 years ago I believe, I was also obsessed with all those productivity apps. Later, however, I began to realize that I could solve almost all my everyday tasks by using macOS utilities with no extra apps needed. Preview is an extremely powerful tool. Terminal, once you’ve understood how it functions, will be very helpful.
Automator is great. There is some great software for scanning documents. IWork is IMO more intuitive than MS Office. Safari is the only browser I’m currently using on my phone and MBP. Really, it’s hard to believe how many things your computer is capable of straight out of the box.
• • • • • • •. I don't like Chrome even on my PC because it uses up a lot of RAM and it can get laggy, so I'm totally down for switching over. Adobe lightroom for mac free. I have a few questions though, if you could answer: • Is there a way to keep Chrome bookmarks in-sync with Safari bookmarks? I will use Chrome on my desktop and Safari on my MBP, so being able to sync bookmarks between the browsers would be crucial. I'm not asking about importing because importing is more of a one-time thing.
• Are there any extensions for Safari that can block ads on YouTube? I'm talking about the kind of ads that interrupt your video.
• Is there a way to sync saved passwords between Chrome and Safari? • Is there a way to let Google track my browsing and searching history? I would like that because the Google app on my iPhone is always able to give me very relevant feeds based on what I search and what I browse on Chrome. If there are easy solutions to all the above, I will definitely switch. • • • • • • •. Afaik 1 doesn't exist, but there is something else: raindrop.io That is a bookmark manager which has extensions for all major browser so you don't have to use Chrome's own bookmark manager, so it works for Safari and chrome and syncs all your bookmarks:) And yes, 'ublock origin' (Google it:p) has a safari extension to block ads. Again with passwords I don't think so, but you can always use (like with bookmarks) a third party app which integrates into Safari and Chrome like LastPass (free) or 1Password (highly recommended on macOS, you can install the system app which works everywhere - 3$ a month) And 4: Google already tracks your history, location etc on all their services.
So as long as you use Google, YouTube, Photos etc. On Safari, you won't miss a thing. Same goes for iPhone. • • • • • • •. • Request Desktop site by holding down refresh • I've never had an issue with this. Long press the image, press Copy. • Yes, Page Search could be improved, but it's there.
• RES still works. It's just no longer updated. • You can change a settings to show full URL. • Not sure what you mean by this, but this has never happened to me.
Unless you're talking about Safari 12, yes, some things changed but you just reenable it. I use AdGuard computer wide (not the extension) and it works fine. • • • • • • •.
